Michael Banney m3architecture is a Brisbane based practice now 14 years old with 12 people. In its infancy, whilst undertaking a broad range of projects, there was a conscious preoccupation with the way in which architecture participates in the public realm. Now it is producing projects for schools, universities, councils and government bodies. The practice is recognised frequently and widely, including representation at two Venice Biennales and receipt of three named national architecture awards. It has recently completed the invited Masters program at RMIT, a process of reflective practice, resulting in an exhibition and thesis centred on the search for ‘specificity that surprises’. Michael Banney will present several projects which position the practice, with an implicit affirmative approach to architecture. |
